All our yurts have a cover guaranteed for 10 years against UV damage, our covers never rot or get mildew and never need any further treatments.
We make all our yurts in our solar powered workshop in the Alto Alentejo and all are customizable but include as standard a 1x1m double glazed aluminum window, a standard door with small window and shutter, modern insulation, an opening clear domed skylight and our covers the only ones designed for all the weather Portugal gets!
All our yurts are self supporting so don't have any central columns or supports and all have walls of over 2m high with the central ring at 3.5m minimum.
Our 5m yurt has 20 square meters of internal floorspace
Our 6.1m or 20 foot yurt has 30 square meters of internal floorspace
And our 7.3m or 24 foot diameter yurt has 42 square meters of floorspace
We also make a 9.1m yurt which has 64 square meters of floor space
The 9.1m includes as standard a 120x120cm double glazed aluminum window to be in proportion.
Optional extras for every yurt include larger windows,high wind kits for very stormy areas, additional insulation layers, additional doors and windows including French double doors with 3/4 glass and shutters, a flue kit installed so you can have a wood burner and mosquito screens.

We found Sarah and Vladimir through a Pure Portugal Facebook thread about yurts and contacted Sarah directly. She was very prompt in her response, shared a photo of their model yurt, and explained the options and pricing. We were impressed with the couple’s dedication to using as many local and sustainable materials as possible, from Portuguese cork flooring and insulation to lovingly crafted wooden doors, lattices, rafters and windows. After some deliberation and further discussion (throughout which Sarah patiently addressed all of our many concerns and questions!), we decided to order a larger size than theirstandard model, with a half-glass door, window and skylight. Sarah and Vladimir were open to custom building the yurt to our specifications, which really made us feel as if we were getting a special and unique structure.
The level of communication throughout the entire process was excellent. Sarah updated us with the latest progress and photos as each component of the yurt was completed, and worked with us to plan a time for delivery and installationthat met our tight schedules. The yurt is now up, and wecan say the end result is truly beautiful. The craftsmanship, particularly on the door and window, is exceptional (and, frankly, much nicer than many “permanent” homes!). This is off-grid housing of the highest quality— it is a special and unique structure, indeed.
